About The Artist

My name is Sarah Vernon, and I was born and raised on the coast of British Columbia. I started wood burning in 2014 because I wanted to have an artistic hobby that was unique and different from the other art forms I had seen. I found wood burning, and absolutely fell in love.

The inspiration for my art comes from the breathtaking nature that can be seen all throughout my home province. My childhood was filled with many road trips and ferry rides all across British Columbia, and I have many fond memories of breathing in fresh air, sitting by rivers and lakes, and admiring the lush forests, tall mountains, and beautiful wildlife all around. It’s where I have always felt most at home. My love for nature has always been a big part of my life, and when I found wood burning, I felt that my loves of nature and art could come together in a really special way.

I have met so many people who have also felt such a strong pull to nature and its beauty, so I decided to share my wood burning pieces, with the hope that I could give people a taste of the Pacific Northwest through my art.
